Helen King

Helen is a writer at Home Base. She spends her working days on strategic planning and infrastructure projects aiming to make our environment a better place, while navigating the politics of land use decision making. Home life is carved out around the multiple activities of her teenage son and tween daughter. She and her husband are currently exploring how to stop talking and actually do less rushing. She is fascinated with the potential of seeing, noticing, and taking the time to care about the important things in life. Maybe the world would be a kinder place? Maybe she’d focus more on her writing? Or maybe it would be less stressful? She does still manage to find time for her novel reading obsession, gardening and periodic wanderings through new and familiar locations.
